Two Simple, Tasty Recipes Using Snack Seasonings

About Me
Communicating Effectively With Your Food Supplier

A few months ago, I realized that our restaurant orders were getting messed up at least once a month. It was frustrating, but after a little careful analysis, I realized that the issue was my fault, not the representative who handled our food supplier account. I started thinking about where and when I was placing orders, and it occurred to me that I was almost always in a hurry and trying to get things ordered quickly. To correct the issue, I started slowing down, double checking my food orders, and asking the supplier to repeat information back to me. Overnight, issues with my food orders went away. Check out this blog to learn how to communicate effectively with your food supplier.

Two Simple, Tasty Recipes Using Snack Seasonings

Finding a good supplier who sells snack seasonings is so incredible. It's nice to have prepared seasonings delivered so you don't have to worry about combining spices and other core ingredients yourself. But once you have those snack seasonings in stock, you have to find creative ways to use them! Here are some simple snack mixes you can make with pretty much any snack seasoning you happen to have ordered.

Super-Seasoned Trail Mix

Trail mix is tasty, but most versions are rather mundane, offering a mixture of nuts and fruits without anything added or sprinkled on them. This trail mix is different. It's made with classic ingredients, but they're well seasoned, which gives the mix a different vibe and makes it utterly crave-able. This one works best with a savory snack seasoning as you then get the contrast between the savory seasoning and the sweet ingredients. But it would work with a sweeter snack seasoning, too. You'll need:

  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons light, neutral oil, such as canola oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup snack seasoning

Place all of the ingredients except for the chocolate chips and snack seasoning, in a bowl. Toss to coat them evenly in the oil. Sprinkle in the snack seasoning, and toss to coat. Spread the mixture out on a baking sheet, and bake in a 300-degree oven for 10 minutes to set the seasoning. Remove from the oven, let cool completely, and stir in the chocolate chips. Enjoy!

Crunchy Cracker Snack Mix

With three kinds of crackers, pretzels, and nuts, this snack mix will have you reaching your hand into the bowl for more, again and again. The crackers the recipe calls for are all pretty mildly flavored, so they'll take on whatever flavor your snack seasoning happens to have. You'll need:

  • 2 cups oyster crackers
  • 1 cup small cheese crackers, such as fish-shaped ones
  • 2 cups miniature saltine crackers
  • 1 cup small pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup of your favorite nuts, or mixed nuts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup snacks seasoning

Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl, and toss to combine. Spread the mixture out on baking sheets, and bake at 300 degrees F for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes during baking. Let cool, and enjoy.

Try these recipes with a variety of snack seasonings. They're bound to serve you well!
